3 Great Reasons Why You Should Visit the Natural Bridge Zoo
Where is the Natural Bridge Zoo and how Much is it?
The Natural Bridge Zoo is situated at 5784 S Lee Hwy, Natural Bridge, VA 24578 (across the street from Dinosaur Kingdom II), and is open from Spring until early September. It is generally open from 10am to 6pm during the week and 10am to 7pm on the weekends but be sure to double check before going if you plan on arriving later in the day. Admission to the zoo is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors, $14 for children aged 3 to 12, with children under 2 admitted free of charge.
What Can You See and Do at the Natural Bridge Zoo?
Upon entering the zoo, visitors are greeted by a diverse array of animals that include Bengal tigers, African elephants, and Chilean flamingos. In addition to these majestic creatures, the zoo is also home to a wide variety of exotic birds, reptiles, and primates. One of the highlights of the zoo are the African Elephant rides where you can ride an African elephant on the weekends between 12-3pm.
But that’s not all. Children of all ages will enjoy exploring the zoo’s petting zoo, where they can get up close with friendly farm animals such as goats, sheep, camels, and llamas. And for those who want to take home a souvenir of their visit, the gift shop offers a wide selection of animal-themed gifts, clothing, and toys.
The Natural Bridge Zoo Supports Conservation Efforts
The zoo is a great choice for families and animal lovers of all ages, with a diverse array of animals and activities to keep visitors entertained for hours. The Natural Bridge Zoo supports wildlife conservation efforts by teaching kids and adults about rare animals and why they should be protected in the wild. However, it’s important to note that the zoo has received criticism from animal welfare advocates in the past and was recently fined for animal welfare violations by the USDA. Visitors should do their research and make an informed decision before visiting.
