Festival of Trees at Natural Bridge State Park
Festival of Trees at Natural Bridge State Park typically runs from mid-November until the beginning of January. Local businesses, organizations, schools, and clubs decorate trees within the park to represent themselves. Guests can vote on their favorite tree by leaving a non-perishable food donation at the base of their favorite tree.
Luminary Nights at Natural Bridge State Park
Experience Cedar Creek Trail in Natural Bridge State Park like never before! For two weekends in December, Luminary Nights lights up the stunning Natural Bridge in festive colors. Carriage rides are also available on some days, so you can truly get into the holiday spirit. The event also features campfires to stay warm and refreshments to keep you full.
Buchanan Festival of Lights
From the end of November to the end of December, the town of Buchanan lights up Town Park. Drive-thru times are available during the weekend, and walk-thru times are scheduled during the week. Be sure to check the town’s website for times and more details.
Buchanan Christmas Parade
Buchana also hosts a classic Christmas Parade that families across the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia love! The parade typically takes place in mid-December. For more than 60 years, residents and tourists have lined the town’s Main Street to celebrate the holidays and come together.
Christmas Light Tours
The Lexington Carriage Company hosts tours around the decorated city. Each year, the picturesque downtown is decked in festive lights and beautiful garland. It’s not quite a sleigh ride, but a carriage ride through the lights is sure to et you into the holiday spirit!
